The poem Hallowe’en In A Suburb is a classic, staple title by H. P. LOVECRAFT, and has been frequently reprinted over the years since its initial publication in 1926. Here, the rhyme is joined by several other tales including The Cats, The Garden, Festival, Astrophobos, Despair, and The Messenger.
As with the other titles in the ongoing Cadabra series, these seven poems are here read by Andrew Leman, who is known as a co-founder of the H. P. LOVECRAFT Historical Society, as well as a professional actor with years of stage, screen, and audio performances including The Call of Cthulhu,The Whisperer in Darkness, and Dark Adventure Radio Theatre. Leman’s voice captures the terror, dread, suspense and madness that permeates LOVECRAFT‘s writing, and is here appropriately paired with sound by Josh Coy of Teratoma Sound Lab.

Album

First published in 1926, Halloween In A Suburb is considered one of H. Lovecrafts major poems, one that has been reprinted frequently through the years. Andrew Leman, one of the chief catalysts in the surge of Lovecrafts popularity with his advent of the historical society reads each of the seven poems on the new 7 collection. If youre immersed in this world then you know Lemans voice, the slight quiver he carries and the tension he effervesces in his slight accent. Boutique label Cadabra does a nice job collecting and packaging the seven selections here, each read one after another by Leman with very little tone or background added to the mix. Then wild in the dark let the lemurs bark, And the leprous spires ascend For new and old alike in the fold Of horror and death are pennd, For the hounds of Time to rend. Lovecraft The steeples are white in the wild moonlight, And the trees have a silver glare Past the chimneys high see the vampires fly, And the harpies of upper air, That flutter and laugh and stare. For the village dead to the moon outspread Never shone in the sunset's gleam, But grew out of the deep that the dead years keep Where the rivers of madness stream Down the gulfs to a pit of dream. A chill wind blows through the rows of sheaves In the meadows that shimmer pale, And comes to twine where the hea. Lovecraft is the debut album by the American psychedelic rock band H. It was released in October 1967 by Philips Records. The album blended psychedelic and folk rock influences and was marked by the haunting, eerie ambiance of the band's music, which itself was often inspired by the literary works of horror writer H. Lovecraft, after whom the band had named themselves. Although most of the album comprises interpretations of traditional and contemporary folk songs, it also
