Released in 1992, this album brought forth a new sound for the group, who had released Fullmoon Mysticism is the first studio album by Norwegian black metal band Immortal. It was released on July 1, 1992 through Osmose Productions. It is the only album to feature Armagedda on drums. All lyrics are written by Demonaz Doom Occulta all music is composed by Abbath Doom Occulta and Demonaz Doom Occulta. The picture disc was later reissued by Osmose. Immortal didnt really break the rules here like they did with the fluidic, off-time melodies on their subsequent album Pure Holocaust. Instead, they took what black metal already had to offer and advanced it made it more complete. The granular production only helps the album. Guitars are fuzzy and pushed back in the mix but remain clear while the bass carries the low end nicely. Drumming is fairly basic black metal drumming, alternating beats to match the rhythmic velocity and texture of the riffs and to drive the pieces forward
