Eat Me in St. Louis is the third album by British progressive poprock band It Bites. The album title was also reused for a compilation album by the band, aimed at the US market. Louis saw It Bites move away from the progressive rock and pop influences of their two previous albums and towards a more hard rock sound with more straightforward compositions and a heavier, rawer sound. The disc shows that they truly were one of the first bands to successfully merge progressive rock with a more pop-oriented mode. The Roger Dean cover surely pulled a lot of Yes fans into buying the disc. The music really is sort of a more modern rock take on classic prog bands like Yes and Genesis.
