On his first trips to America as a precocious teen, Colombias J Balvin didnt necessarily understand all the words in the pop songs he fell in love with. The scene there has helped bring the genre back into the mainstream, often by taking a more suave approach to a traditionally explicit and misogynist aesthetic, not unlike his contemporary Maluma. Second-generation Colombian and second-generation reggatoñero, J Balvin has continually sought creative and commercial expansion in his music. J Balvin is living his moment The Colombian superstar has announced that his forthcoming album, titled Vibras, is set to be released on May 25. Balvin took to social media to make the announcement, posting a short video showing the name and the release date of the set, with the caption New album Vibras on May 25. The set will follow his last album Energia - released in 2016 - which debuted No. 1 on Billboards Top Latin Albums chart dated July, 16, 2016.
