March 20 2018. Yo La Tengo often abbreviated as YLT, Spanish for I've Got It is an American indie rock band formed in Hoboken, New Jersey in 1984. Since 1992 the lineup has consisted of Ira Kaplan guitars, piano, vocals, Georgia Hubley drums, piano, vocals, and James McNew bass, vocals. In 2015, original guitarist Dave Schramm rejoined the band and appears on their fourteenth album, Stuff Like That There. Yo La Tengo have been performing their famous eight-night Hanukkah run for the better part of 18 years, but it has nothing to do with being Jewish. Were not all Jewish, for one thing, frontman Ira Kaplan tells Rolling Stone. Even those of us that are are not religious in any way. It was more that it seemed challenging and funny to play eight nights in a row with all the hoopla over Christmas. I thought that Hanukkah could use a bit of a spotlight.
