Album
For Your Own Special Sweetheart is the third album by Washington D. post-hardcore band, Jawbox. It was produced by Ted Niceley, best known for his work with Fugazi. This would be the band's major label debut, as they had left Dischord Records to sign with Atlantic Records. It is also the first album to feature Zachary Barocas on drums, as he replaced original drummer Adam Wade two years prior. The album was not much of a commercial success, despite being well received by critics. 2016 г. Jawbox - For Your Own Special Sweetheart. Elijah Nang - Gaijin 外人. Not long after that, the band began to tour and record, releasing its first single, Tools & Chrome , in 1990 as a split between Desoto and Dischord. Jawbox released two full-length records on Dischord, Grippe and Novelty, and toured heavily throughout the 90s. S, T. Jan 1996. For Your Own Special Sweetheart. Jan 1994. Jackpot Plus, . No band had left the sacred Dischord label for a major prior to Jawbox, so it was seen by some as an unforgivable crime against . The move, inconsequential from a creative standpoint, was the betrayed's loss. The band's first album for the bad guys represents their peak, a thrilling collision of vibrant guitar-generated noise and off-center melodic hooks over a rhythm section that swings as easily as it pummels. But listening to Jawbox's freshly reissued 1994 major-label debut, For Your Own Special Sweetheart, it's difficult to conclude they made the wrong decision by recording this album for Atlantic. The obvious reason is cold, hard cash: Sweetheart might sound unassumingly direct, but it takes a lot of time and money to make a record this precise and balanced. Sweetheart's return to Dischord reintroduces the album as a win-win prospect: a record with a mid-90s alt-rock budget, but none of that era's corny or diminishing relics. The third album by seminal Washington, D. post-hardcore band Jawbox, released by Atlantic Records on February 8, 1994. Notable for being their first major label release, and for being one of the first independent hardcore bands to join a major label. Remastered and reissued in 2009 by DeSoto Records, with three bonus tracks and new cover art. For Your Own Special Sweetheart Q&A
