Fade to Black is a 2004 documentary film about the career of American rapper Jay-Z. It also features many other famous names in hip hop music. This live concert at Madison Square Garden was meant to be Jay-Z's final performance, as he announced his intentions to retire from the industry. Fade to Black runs through some of the major parts of Jay-Z's Madison Square Garden performance while cutting to Jay-Z and his exploits, as well as insights into the making of The Black Album. The Black Album is the eighth studio album by American rapper Jay-Z, released on November 28, 2003, by Roc-A-Fella Records. It was advertised as his final album before retiring, which is also a recurring theme throughout the songs, although Jay-Z resumed his recording career in 2006. For the album, Jay-Z wanted to enlist a different producer for each song, working with Just Blaze, Kanye West, The Neptunes, Eminem, DJ Quik, Timbaland, 9th Wonder and Rick Rubin, among others. Текст песни: They say They never really miss you 'til you dead or you gone. So on that note, Im leavin' after the song So you aint gotta feel no way about Jay, so long At least let me tell you why Im this way, hold during his Black Album era, Jay-Z looks back on his career as one of rap music's most successful emcees and entrepreneurs. The film chronicles the legendary concert of Jay-Z's performance at Madison Square Garden in November 2003. In an unprecedented event, a hip-hop artist sold out an arena in only two hours. Nearly one year later, fans and artists alike still reflect on this monumental musical night. The event was a spectacular culmination of Jay-Z's recording career prior to his self-proclaimed retirement from solo performing. Yet this one night also defined a musical generation, showcasing the evolution and reach of the world's most popular music genre. Jay-Zs eighth studio album was released on November 14, 2003. Hov and Roc-A-Fella Records promoted it as his finale where he would fade in black. Retirement is a recurring theme throughout the songs and since this was supposed to be Jiggas last album for each song he used a different flow and rhyme pattern, showcasing his technical ability and perfection he achieved at something, which he later would dedicate a song to. Hov originally had the idea for The Black Album in 1998, and he wanted close friend DJ Premier to produce all of the tracks. Or consider a donation. Fade to Black is a document of Jay-Zs self-proclaimed final concert a grand affair that took place before a sold-out crowd at New Yorks Madison Square Garden in November 2003. But anyone who follows celebrity news knows that Jay-Z was out of retirement and back performing at the Garden just a year later. Fade to Black is a legitimately powerful record of a truly historic event in the annals of rap. Muttering offhand narration with typical bored, streetwise affect, Jay hails the concert as a momentous occasion for being the first time a hip-hop show was allowed to headline at the Garden
