Album

Timeless is the debut album by American jazz fusion guitarist John Abercrombie. It was released in 1975 by ECM Records. The album was recorded with Jack DeJohnette on drums and Jan Hammer on organ, piano, and synthesizer. The Penguin Guide to Jazz gave the album 4 stars, noting, There's more filigree than flash on the early Timeless and it's. Red And Orange - John Abercrombie, Jan Hammer, Jack DeJohnette. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Guitarist John Abercrombie's first in a long line of recordings for ECM was also his debut as a leader. Teamed up with Jan Hammer who here plays organ, synthesizer, and piano and drummer Jack DeJohnette, Abercrombie plays four of his originals, plus two by Hammer. These performances differ from many of the guitarist's later ECM dates in that Hammer injects a strong dose of fusion into the music, and there is plenty of spirited interplay between those two with fine support by DeJohnette. John Abercrombie Jan Hammer, Jack DeJohnette Timeless John Abercrombie guitar Jan Hammer organ. This fiery session with Jack DeJohnette and Jan Hammer still sounds as fresh as the year it was released. Timeless comes as a major surprise in terms of its . 6 Songs, 44 Minutes. Released January 1, 1975. 1975 ECM Records GmbH, under exclusive license to Deutsche Grammophon GmbH, Berlin. More by John Abercrombie, Jan Hammer & Jack DeJohnette. John Abercrombie - Love Song. John Abercrombie - Ralph's Piano Waltz. John Abercrombie - Red And Orange. John Abercrombie's first outing as a leader was not something you just put on quietly in the background and forgot about, it alternately grabbed you by the throat or hypnotised you. Joined here by the ever versatile Jack DeJohnette on drums and keyboard whiz Jan Hammer taking a VERY rare turn on Hammond organ as well as piano and Mini Moog. Such a shame he didn't play organ more, he sounded GREAT on it, JA blasts off with his own unique take on fusion, emphasizing the jazz end of the equation more than some of his contemporaries at the time. Timeless is the debut album from guitarist John Abercrombie. Released under the illustrious jazz label ECM records, Timeless contains virtuosic performances and genre-defying compositions from Abercrombie, keyboardist Jan Hammer from Mahavishnu Orchestra fame and fusion drummer Jack DeJohnette. The title-track is a serene end to the album combining elements of jazz, ambient, and perhaps being a precedent to post rock reminiscent of Miles Davis' In A Silent Way. Timeless Q&A.
