But Rules Of Invisibility Volume 1 is a group enterprise. It's far more than O'Gallagher fronting a trio. This is very interactive music. Bassist Kamaguchi can swing like mad, as he does on Leakey's Bag, and he also shadows O'Gallagher and Rosen with effective counterpoint. His measured, stately dance on Titans Stride is a fine example of his intuitive gifts. Drummer Rosen also contributes a stellar performance. Although most often associated with free playing, Rosen can also dig in and swing. In fact, he's a master of bop drumming, and he demon. Album 2004 8 Songs. John O'Gallagher. Titans Stride. It helps, of course, that Jay Rosen is one-half of the rhythm section, as he comfortably projects a deliberate, understated mien, evidenced on a tune such as Point Time, where he and O'Gallagher border on abstract minimalism. Leakey's Bag is the group's freestyle homage to Bird, with O'Gallagher sporting a delightfully course sound on alto, even at a speedy clip. Djesse Vol. 1 is the first jazz record in the Djesse series by Jacob Collier. The album features the Metropole Orkest, and was released 7 December 2018. Djesse is a planned collection of four volumes which was announced 29 October 2018. Each record describes a different part of the day, with the first record describing daybreak. It has been suggested that the title Djesse, which is pronounced with a silent D ˈdʒɛsi, is a reference to Collier's own initials
