Album
John Prine is the debut album by American countryfolk singer-songwriter John Prine, issued by Atlantic Records in 1971. In 2012, the album was ranked number 452 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Prine was offered a recording contract by Jerry Wexler of Atlantic Records after the record executive saw the singer perform several of his own songs at a Kris Kristofferson show at the Bitter End. The song Paradise was recorded at A&R Studios in New York with Prine's. The Tree Of Forgiveness. The New Album Available Now. Order Album. Tour Dates. Show All Dates. John Prine - John Prine. A brilliant storyteller of extraordinary wit, perception, social conscience, and deep humanity. John Prine will be deeply missed by his fellow artists. Good songwriters are on the rise, but John Prine is differently good. If Prine had less talent, this would have been a much easier review to write. Because of the fact that the highs show brilliance, the lows are more noticeable hes a good songwriter but there are indications that he can be a great one. In his liner notes Kris Kristofferson writes of Prine: Twenty-four years old and writes like hes two-hundred and twenty.
