Secrets of Flying is the second and final album released by Bahamian American singer-songwriter Johnny Kemp. Released at the end of 1987, this album featured two massively successful singles. The first hit from the album was the Grammy-nominated single Just Got Paid, which cracked the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1988, and went on to top both the R&B chart and Hot Dance MusicClub Play chart. The rest of the album wasn't anywhere near that level, and Kemp has never come close to duplicating either the song or getting compositions, production, and arrangements that could regenerate his career. He was born in Nassau in the Bahamas, and according to the Just Got Paid Songfacts, moved to New York as a teenager in 1979 to front a group called Kinky Fox.
