Album
Make Sure They See My Face is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Kenna. It was released on October 16, 2007 via Interscope and Star Trak labels. The record includes two singles. Recording for the album took place at: Virginia Beach Hovercraft Studios, Mixstar Studio, Norfolk Lopside Studios, Los Angeles The Record Plant, Studio City Ringside Studios, New York Allido Studios, London Whitfield Street Studios. And though the critical reception to the project was warm enough, sales were low and Kenna was sent on his way, labelless. Eventually, with another nearly completed album, he found a new home at Universal which is a little coincidental, considering it's Interscope's parent company, and what results, Make Sure They See My Face, is a much more cohesive record, one that may have an easier time making it onto MTV and mainstream radio. Make Sure They See My Face. Please retry. 2007 release from the critic's darling Kenna, the eldest son of an immigrant Ethiopian family had a life changing experience when he discovered U2. He resolved to make his own music that was equally powerful and poetic. Landing in Virginia Beach, he connected with the areas most creative residents, The Neptunes to craft music that would eventually lead to Make Sure They See My Face. AP cheers that he's part Stevie Wonder, part Radiohead, part Ric Ocasek, while Entertainment Weekly calls Kenna a savvy, idiosyncratic artist who could help redeem radio. Album 2007 12 Songs.
