Brotzmann blows wild and free here, and his squeal and blurt provides a great counterpoint to the rumble of the rhythms and the pummeling sonic overload of Sharrock's guitar. The seven tracks are given titles from Kenneth Patchen, also the source of the cover art with the four heads biting one another. The design and the lettering are by Brotz, of course, as is the choice of song titles. I first heard him with Last Exit and with his album with Laswell, Lowlife, and only later discovered his vast body of work going back to the late Seventies. And Bill Laswell is ever the trickster, creating new bands and albums faster than the ear can hear. Read more
