The album features, along with the lighter songs such as the cover of Cat Stevens Remember the Days of The Old School Yard and the gentle pastiche My Grandaddy Could Reggae, more sultry numbers such as This Time Ill be Sweeter and It's in His Kiss. Her album made clear the intention of re-branding the singer, moving. No matter how well-loved. Packing more covers than any of her earlier albums, Not a Little Girl Anymore nevertheless emerges as Lewis' most well-rounded and, perhaps, personal album yet. Cat Stevens' Remember the Days Of The Old Schoolyard, a somewhat forced exercise in nostalgia in its writer's hands, is here imbibed with a genuine sense of emotion and regret.
