What they came up with is rather a mishmash of material that only points the way for Maria McKee to don a solo outfit and carry on alone. Shelter is the product of the involvement of David Geffen and Jimmy Iovine, who fired and replaced the entire original LJ band except for Maria McKee. That was a huge mistake, as was the overly polished, slick production that made the album more of a poproots rock album versus the cowpunkrockabilly style that Lone Justice became famous for in the early 1980's club scene in LA.
