Mahogany Rush IV is the fourth studio album by Canadian Rock music band Mahogany Rush, led by Frank Marino. It was released in 1976 on Columbia Records. Mahogany Rush IV was originally released in 1976 and was the band's first album for Columbia. World Anthem followed one year later. The first album released from Frank Marino. This album was dedicated to Jimi Hendrix which enhanced the ugly rumor that Frank was Jimi's reincarnation. The record features a vast array of styles which only grace the surface of what's to come. Mahogany Rush relocated to America in 1976, and singed to Columbia Records after critics savaged frontmanguitarist and songwriter Frank Marino for his unabashed Jimi Hendrix worship and some would say cannibalism on the group's first trio of albums. Mahogany Rush IV doesn't do anything to dissuade the critics, as Marino aped bits of Crosstown Traffic on the album's opening cut I'm Going Away. Perhaps he thought that drenching everything in cheesy Mellotron might distract the rock press bloodhounds. Mahogany Rush is a Canadian rock band led by guitarist Frank Marino. The band had its peak of popularity in the 1970s, playing such venues as California Jam II together with bands such as Aerosmith, Ted Nugent and Heart. Mahogany Rush formed in Montreal during 1970. The band is perhaps best known for Marino's soaring lead guitar which bears a strong resemblance to the playing of Jimi Hendrix.
