In 1955, Tadeusz Sygietynski death threatened the ensembles very existence, but Mira provided the strong leadership required to breathe new life into the group, which has gone on to present 6,000 performances in Poland and forty nine other countries. Today Mazowsze is regarded as one of the worlds best known folk dance groups. Serving as an ambassador of the Polish culture, the ensemble brings with it a taste of the motherland to many Poles scattered throughout the world.
