New Medicine was originally formed as A Verse Unsung by two friends, Jake Scherer and Dan Garland, who were attending Orono High School at the time. The two would write lyrics during classes then work through them musically at Scherer's family's farm in Medina where he lived. Minneapolis-based alternative rock quartet NEW MEDICINE will release its sophomore album, Breaking The Model, on August 25 via Imagen Records. The first single from CD is One Too Many, an upbeat rocker that every person who has ever had an alcoholic drink can relate to. Boy Like Me Formed in 2009, NEW MEDICINE burst onto the scene with its 2010 debut, Race To The Bottom. That CD went on to sell over 30,000 copies based on the strength of the music, radio support and a extensive road work alongside AVENGED SEVENFOLD, HALESTORM, ADELITA'S WAY, HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD and STONE SOUR. A new study found a meat-heavy diet carries a small but increased risk of cardiovascular disease. On Monday, a group of prominent researchers pushed back, publishing a large study in JAMA Internal Medicine that once again highlighted the potential harms of a meat-heavy diet. The researchers analyzed data on a diverse group of thousands of people who were followed for an average of three decades. They found that people who had the highest intakes of red meat, processed meat and poultry had a small but increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
