How could I have been unaware of such a great and talented singer I had seen Mireille Mathieu on American television in the late 1960's, but had forgotten her. All I remembered was she was a petite woman with a large voice, and was roughly my age. I saw Chante Piaf in a CD catlogue in about 1996, and remembered her. I bought the CD out of curiosity.
