Mogwai Young Team also known as Young Team is the debut studio album by Scottish post-rock band Mogwai. Produced by Paul Savage and Andy Miller, the album was released on 21 October 1997 through the Chemikal Underground record label. Mogwai Young Team was re-released in May 2008 on Chemikal Underground, packaged as a remaster of the original album with a second disc containing rare tracks from the Young Team sessions and live recordings. Mogwai Young Team was recorded in Summer 1997 at MCM Studios now known as Gargleblast Studios in Hamilton, Scotland, and was produced by Paul Savage and Andy Miller. Young Team, Mogwai's first full-length album fulfills the promise of their early singles and EPs, offering a complex, intertwining set of crawling instrumentals, shimmering soundscapes, and shards of noise. Picking up where Ten Rapid left off, Mogwai use the sheer length of an album to their advantage, recording a series of songs that meld together - it's easy to forget where one song begins and the other ends. The record itself takes its time to begin, as the sound of chiming processed guitars and murmured sampled vocals floats to the surface. Throughout the album, the sound of the. On their 1997 debut album, the Glasgow post-rockers Mogwai stretch the genre's limits, pushing their hypnotic, dirge-like instrumental rave-ups to seven, 12, and even 16 minutes. Yes I Am a Long Way from Home sets a deceptively dulcet tone-chiming guitars, major chords-before Like Herod explodes into a full-metal meltdown. My first listen unveiled nothing else of interest, the first song was a bore and the second was actively annoying. I came very close to deleting the album.
