Australia For a Sugar Tax is an independent campaign to highlight the costs that sugar imposes on us and present the solutions. Australias doctors, dentists, dietitians, and health economists agree that the direct and indirect harms and costs of sugar require urgent action. The health and economic case for a sugar tax is clear. But the public case is still being made. Were not anti-sugar. Sugar Tax is the eighth album by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark OMD, released in May 1991 on Virgin Records. It was the group's first studio album since 1986, and the first of three recorded without co-founder Paul Humphreys, who had departed in 1989. Featuring singer Andy McCluskey with a new backing band, it leans more towards the dance-pop genre that was prevalent in the early 1990s, than the experimental brand of synthpop which characterised OMD's earlier recordings. Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark OMD are an English electronic band formed in Wirral, Merseyside in 1978. Spawned by earlier band The Id, the outfit is composed of co-founders Andy McCluskey vocals, bass guitar and Paul Humphreys keyboards, vocals, along with Martin Cooper various instruments and Stuart Kershaw drums McCluskey is the only constant member.
