Orquesta Aragón is a Cuban charanga band which was formed on 30 September 1939 by double bassist Orestes Aragón Cantero in Cienfuegos, Cuba. After moving to Havana, they gained great popularity. They have maintained the same instrumentation since, which involves violins, piano, flute, percussion, and vocals. The band originally had the name Ritmica 39, then Ritmica Aragón before settling on its final form.
