Oak Island, by post-hardcore band Our Last Night, consists of songs about overcoming mental illness, breakups, and losing a loved one. The title of the album is a reference to the mythical Oak Island of Nova Scotia. Breakdowns and screams made only brief appearances while electronics and clean singing became the norm throughout the album The EP manages to grow and develop the bands sound to the point that they are well into the process of grinding down the juvenile edges to their sound and comes out as an infectiously catchy rock influenced post-hardcore release.
