Vices & Virtues is the third studio album by American pop rock band Panic at the Disco, released on March 22, 2011 on Fueled by Ramen. Produced by John Feldmann and Butch Walker, the album was recorded as a duo by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Brendon Urie and drummer Spencer Smith, following the departure of lead guitarist, backing vocalist and primary lyricist Ryan Ross and bassistbacking vocalist Jon Walker in July 2009. The album's artwork was conceptualized by touring bassist Dallon Weekes. The album was recorded between April 20th - July 26th 2010 at Ruby Red Studios and Foxy Studios. The album was recorded as a duo by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Brendon Urie and drummer Spencer Smith due to the departure of lyricist, composer, and guitarist Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker in July of 2009. Dallon Weekes, who had been touring with the band since 2009. Vices & Virtues is the first album released after Ryan Ross and Jon Walker decided to depart from the band. The album itself is yet another reinvention of the band as a whole, illustrating Spencer Smith and Brendon Uries new vision for Panic while still maintaining their dramatic flare. The album is a stark contrast from the bands previous album Pretty. We did some research and Vices and Virtues popped up. Aristotle has this Biblical list thats tied in with themes of human behavior that weve been noticing in ourselves. This album is a study of our human behavior. Its about our changes in self-esteem and the changes of growing up. Vices & Virtues Q&A. Vices & Virtues pushes the classing Panic sound the new heights, capturing the glory of A Fever You Can't Sweat Out all the while securing their spot with a new generation of fans. The album is heralded by the first single, The Ballad Of Mona Lisa, available February 1, 2011 at digital retailers. The music video for which was recently shot in Los Angeles with director Shane Drake, will debut on MTV Networks Tuesday, February 8, 2011. At The Disco album in my opinion. The disk has a lovely design and the lyric booklet has a very aesthetic styling. and turn Vices & Virtues into a curious little nesting doll of an album. Elements of the bands energetic emo are here, but its only one bit on a record that follows the kitchen sink aesthetic of Pretty. one where the production is too restless to sit still for more than a couple of bars.
