New Beginning starts things simply, at just less than two minutes Jófríður and Ásthildur sing in hauntingly congruent sibling harmonies over strummed guitar and bass. Moi displays their penchant for writing catchy melodies, this time trimmed in delicately picked arpeggios and whispery inflections sung in their native tongue. Pascal Pinon is a musical group from Reykjavík, Iceland and is composed of twin sisters Ásthildur and Jófríður Ákadóttir. In 2009, when they were 14 years of age, the Ákadóttir sisters along with Halla Kristjánsdóttir and Kristín Ylfa Hólmgrímsdóttir formed the group. The name is a reference to the early 20th century circus performer Pasqual Piñón. The group described their music as simple and honest, filled with both melancholy and optimism.
