Paul Livingstone is an American sitarist, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He is one of the few American disciples of Pt. Ravi Shankar, also trained under Rajeev Taranath and Amiya Dasgupta all of the Senia Maihar Gharana. Paul began his study of sitar and tabla at age 15 living in India. He has performed classical raga music with several of the leading tabla players of India and Nepal including Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, Abhijit Banerjee, Pandit Shashanka Shekhar Bakshi and Hom Nath Upadhaya. The Turbans debut Album is the culmination of 7 years of playing, travelling, improvising, collaborating, and performing. In Spring 2016, 13 musicians gathered from 10 different countries with one aim: The Turbans debut album. There they wrote and developed 30 songs which formed the basis of the this album. Their new album takes the listener on a journey through the rhythm's, scales, melodies and languages which reflect The Turban.
