The first thing I noticed is there are no weak tracks on it, only great ones. That kinda helps. I haven't really listened to much of his older work but i can't escape the notion that he has shedded the need to show off or be freaky just to be freaky and now dares to give his tracks some room and keep it spare. A lot of the power of this album lays in the use of sounds and textures. It also works great as a whole. It's got a beautiful melancholic feel.
