Album
Planxty:129145 is the first album by the Irish folk group Planxty, recorded in London during early September 1972 and released in early 1973. Because of its dark cover, Planxty is sometimes referred to as the black album. Author Leagues O'Toole has written that the album crystallises the 1972 set performed live by the band during their first year of touring. The Planxty Collection - Planxty. Rock 1976. free to Planxty The Planxty Collection the jolly beggar-reel, Merrily Kissed the Quaker and more. 12 tracks 49:12. Beginning with The Jolly Beggar Reel from the eponymous debut, The Planxty Collection skillfully navigates deft instrumental offerings like The Hare in the Cornthe Frost Is All Over and Denis Murphy's Polka, but spends much of its time displaying the band's peerless ballads and pre-19th century folk songs. Andy Irvine, whose blistering rendition of The Blacksmith and deeply affecting lament As I Roved Out serve as definite highlights, is the perfect foil to Christy Moore's soft, everyman voice. I noticed there was no fully version of this album of youtube. I don't own this song etc. Planxty is the first album by the Irish folk group Planxty Collection, 1976. The Jolly Beggar - Reel, 04:21. Planxty Format: Audio CD. I bought this album as an LP many moons ago but have been unable to play it for ages as I no longer have a turntable. Whilst rummaging through my old LPs I came across the album and decided to see if it was available on CD. I've now received the CD and have played it non-stop several times. This is Irish folk music by some of its greatest exponents, all in their prime
