After PVRIS conceptual debut, White Noise, singerguitarist Gunn confronts heartache and anxiety with new candor and vulnerability. It fuels a darker, broader sound without sacrificing the trios gift for arena-filling choruses. Their compelling fusion of rock and electronic suggests Florence The Machine on the soaring, percussive Whats Wrong and Heaven, while they pull off the difficult trick of making rock music thats dramatic and grand but not overripe on No Mercy. All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell is the second album by American rock band PVRIS. View wiki. The group's earliest incarnation was as a local metalcore outfit before vocalist Lynn Gunn born Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, former I Am the Fallen guitarist Alex Babinski, bassist Brian Macdonald, and drummer Brad Griffin branched off to form PVRIS At this initial stage of their careers, the band's sound echoed contemporaries such as Tonight Alive, Against the Current, and Paramore. In that regard, All We Know is White Noise, but wiser. The opener Heaven uses a looped synth line that repeats and reverberates as Gunn stretches her voice over the chorus You took my heaven away, a lethal combination that feels like a recorded memory. From there, Half launches with anthemic specificity-its the closest thing to a sonic respite, but PVRIS rarely slow down. Aside from the hard-rocking No Mercy - the closest PVRIS come to the alt-punk sound of White Noise - All We Know distinguishes itself from the 2014 debut with restraint, touches of beauty, and contemporary pop production, like a combination of That's the Spirit-era Bring Me the Horizon colliding with synth pop group Chvrches. On All We Know, PVRIS take a crucial step on the right course toward finding their own trademark sound. Read full review. All the songs are made with love and passionated. The complete album is a different turn compared with White Noise and much better in every single way. Is a perfect second album for PVRIS. LOVE IT
