Written by the bands drummer, Roger Taylor, this song reached the Top 40 of every major chart around the world. Its music video prominently features footage from the iconic German Sci-Fi movie Metropolis. Roger had an idea of very good melodic content, and to be honest, it was called Radio Ca Ca before, and initially it was to deal with the radio being too old or whatever, and I just said, I think you should change the lyrical content, and in fact, we went totally the other way, so, I mean, Radio Ga Ga -I mean . Freddie from Orlando, FlRadio Ga Ga came from Rog's 2 year old son Felix who continuded to say Radio Poo Poo while listening to the radio. As Roger put it, I thought that sounded good, so I changed it around a bit and came up with 'Radio Ga Ga'. The song came after I'd locked myself in a studio for three days with a synthesiser and a drum machince. Brandi from Enon, OhI heard the song was sopposed to be how out of style that the radio was but freddie mercury helped change some of the lyrics around to make it the exact opposite. The Works opens with Radio Ga Ga. It was composed on keyboards after Roger Taylor heard his son Felix three years old at the time saying radio poo poo. He wrote it in Los Angeles and locked himself in the studio with a Roland Jupiter 8 and a drum machine. Afterward, John Deacon came up with a suitable bass line. Freddie Mercury reconstructed the track, both musically and lyrically. Fred Mandel, their session. Album Name Radio Ga Ga. Type EP. Released date January 1984. Labels EMI Records. Music StyleRock.
