Radiation City was an American indie rock band that began in Portland, Oregon, in 2010. The band consisted of Cameron Spies guitar, vocals, Elisabeth Ellison vocals, keyboards, Randy Bemrose drums, vocals, Matt Rafferty bass, vocals, and Patti King vocals, keys, bass. There were two couples in the band. The band released four albums: Cool Nightmare, The Hands That Take You, Animals in the Median, and Synesthetica. The band was signed to the Polyvinyl Record Co. The band had built a strong following in its native Portland and connected with fans around the world, and from the outside, the path seemed clear enough: find a great producer to work with and further develop the smooth, space-age doo-wop sound that had put them on the map in the first place. Cameron Spies and Lizzy Ellison, Radiation Citys founding couple, were falling apart. Radiation City. Your parents' record collection spent some time on the Event Horizon, and this came out. Radiation City formed in 2010 and ended in November of 2016, but there was an EP in the works so we decided to finish the mixes and release it. The EP is a swan song and also a love letter to the fans who supported us loyally for years. The details of the dissolution of the band are difficult to discuss in too much detail it was a deeply personal thing to experience and weve laid bare too much of the personal stuff over the years.
