Starting Over is the twenty-first studio album released by American country singeractress Reba McEntire on October 3, 1995. It was a tribute to her roots and influences, featuring cover versions of songs by artists whom she admired growing up. Among the artists being covered were Dolly Parton, Donna Summer, Linda Ronstadt, The Supremes, Lee Greenwood and Patti LaBelle. Starting Over isn't quite a rebirth for Reba McEntire rather, it's a tribute to her formative influences. Consisting of nothing but covers of a selection of her favorite songs from the '50s, '60s, and '70s, the album is an engaging listen. Some of the tracks demonstrate her roots, while others are nothing more than entertainment. McEntire doesn't reimagine these songs, but she delivers strong, confident performances that make them sound fresh.
