Rick Trolsen – Jazz Brasileiro de New Orleans
“In 2001 I travelled to Rio de Janeiro with the New Orleans Nightcrawlers Brass Band for a performance at the “Free Jazz Festival.” This is how I became interested in Brazilian Choro Music. On subsequent visits, (to keep a long story short) I recorded the CD “Gringo do Choro” there in Rio, using local guys that grew up with this music in their blood. It was, to say the least, a fantastic and exciting endeavor. Occasionally here in the States, I will put the band together for a gig, but with as many projects that I have my hands in, it happens all too rarely. Please enjoy some “Made in Brazil” music!”
