Robbie Nevil is an American pop singersongwriterguitarist. He was born Robert S Nevil on 10 February 1960 in Los Angeles, California. His surname is often mis-spelled 'Neville'. Nevil's self-titled debut album in 1986 gave him a string of Hot 100 hits, although his subsequent albums were not as successful. He is best remembered for the song C'est La Vie, a 1 dance hit that spent two weeks at 2 on the Hot 100 in early 1987. The only reason I give this album 4 stars and not 5 is that the record company passed up sparkling, technically intricate, highly original songs like Paradise, Love and Money, and Going Through the Motions, in favor of the cover tunes Tell Me Something Good and Getting Better. Not a smart trade to offer Nevil fans. All this aside, listen up. Robbie Nevil should have amounted to more than he did.
