Robin Williamson closed out a productive decade with 1999's THE ISLAND OF THE STRONG DOOR. The 10 originals mix his British Isles background with elements of romantic popular music, theater, cabaret, and more. That means I rate it as one of the best things anyone's ever done, because Robin is my all-time favourite musician and songwriter. The writing, playing and singing throughout this album are uniformly sublime.
