He is a Dutch composer, musician and producer in the field of electronic music, and owner of Groove Unlimited. He was already inspired by electronic music in the Mid-1970s, especially by Klaus Schulze, but also by Tangerine Dream, Vangelis and Steve Roach. He gave his first concert two years later. In 1987 he recorded his first album, which has been followed by many more to date. From 1990 to 1991 Ron Boots and Bas Broekhuis ran the label for electronic music Synteam.
