Top Priority is Rory Gallagher's tenth album. It was his fourth and final studio album for Chrysalis Records both in the UK and USA. The album was the second with his revised power trio band. Like the previous album Photo-Finish, Top Priority is a return to hard rock. In typical Rory style he named the album after their promise so that no one at the record company would be able to forget their guarantee. The album was released less than a year after Photo Finish, which given his busy touring schedule, was quite remarkable considering the quality of the music on offer. It was Rory Gallaghers then label, Chrysalis Records, who inadvertently named his tenth album.
