Marathon is a studio album by Saga, their fifteenth album of new material. It is the final album to feature original drummer Steve Negus. All music is composed by Saga. Three of the songs, Streets Of Gold Chapter 14, You Know I Know Chapter 12 and Worlds Apart Chapter 16, were the last part of a second series of eight songs that Saga included within some of their albums called The Chapters, which told the story of a young Albert Einstein. While 25 years into their existence Saga still had a following, they had become an obvious caricature of themselves - an unintended Spinal Tap. The first SAGA album I head was House of Cards and I love it Marathon makes perfect sense as the follow-up album to House of Cards. Its technical, heavy and progressive, with the underlying uniqueness throughout that is signature Saga. While Marathons songwriting isnt quite up to speed with House of Cards, it certainly isnt far behind .
