Samara Lubelski is an American singer, violinist, guitarist and bassist. She has been a member of numerous bands, including Of a Mesh, Metabolismus, Salmon Skin, the Sonora Pine, Hall of Fame, the Tower Recordings, MV & EE and the Bummer Road, and Chelsea Light Moving. Since 2003, she has released nine solo studio albums. Lubelski is a prolific guest musician, performing predominantly on violin and occasionally on bass on dozens of recordings by artists such as the Fiery Furnaces, White Magic. Prolific violinist Samara Lubelski and guitarist Bill Nace Open Mouth, BodyHead doing a last-minute surprise show at Hanson Records in Oberlin, Lubelski is a singer, songwriter, multi instrumentalist violinist, guitarist and bassist improviser and engineer. She has been a member of numerous bands, including Of a Mesh, The Salmon Skin, Pacer, The Sonora Pine, Hall of Fame, The Tower Recordings, Metal Mountains and Chelsea Light Moving. Samara Lubelski and Bill Nace are both veterans of the American sub-underground. Between them they have many projects under many names on many labels. Most recently, however, the two have been focused on string-based duo aktion, Samara in cahoots with Marcia Bassett, and Bill with Kim Gordon in BodyHead. These two ensembles explore different expanses of the genre. The LubelskiBassett Duo focus on the powerful beauty of drone rainbow landscapes, while BodyHead venture into dialogues dealing with subconscious dream language.
