Overall TOM TOM BLUES is a solid album, though I wouldn't rank it as one of the 77s best recordings. If most of the album was like the first 3 songs and the closing track, I'd give it a 5-star rating. But the band takes some unexpected musical diversions in between - and the between songs don't hold up to the high standards I've come to expect from the 77s. Still some great stuff here though, and if you're a hard-core 77s fan and if you like the edgier stuff from DROWNING you'll probably like this album. Note, March 2016 A couple.
