Gallows Gallery is an album by the band Sigh. It was released by Candlelight Records originally in 2005. Gallows Gallery is Sigh's first album as a four-piece rather than a trio and their first album for which they made a music video. The album also more prominently features clean vocals, with Mirai's singing heavily processed through Pro Tools and vocoders. Sigh incorporated influences that prompted Avi Pitchon to describe the album in Terrorizer as containing a decidedly power fuckin' metal vibe. Gallows Gallery. Sigh - Gallows Gallery 2005. Sigh have admitted their claims that the album was recorded using Japanese World War II sonic weaponry techniques were false. The rumour was circulated firstly to excuse the poor final master and also because Century Media refused to distribute the album. The label had actually been expecting a more black metal-oriented album and were dissatisfied with the avant-garde direction Sigh had taken. The album was eventually remastered and reissued by The End Records. Recording information: Recorded at Studio Moopies, Studio Sarasvati, August 2004 - July 2005. Granted, this fidelity problem isn't as overt on the album's two softer cuts. The Tranquilizer Song is a simply glorious amalgam of bandleader Mirai Kawashima's waltzing synthesized strings, swirling Hammond organs, keyboard lullabies, and timid falsettos - more suited to classical music conservatories than mosh pits.
