Signal Aout 42, also known as SA42, is a Belgian band. When they started, back in 1981, Signal Aout 42 which was simply called SIGNAL was the project of a bunch of schoolmates Jacky Meurisse, Damien and Luc Vandamme who decided to get on stage to have fun and play improvised gigs In fact they didnt have proper compositions but they were more like audio and visual performances industrial noises, chainsaw, metal barrelsplayed to rhythms generated by drum machines and synthetic sound atmospheres. The project started in the early 80's under the name 'Signal', it was an industrial noise act with also Thierry Durnez. It became Signal Aout 42 in the mid 80's. Signal Aout 42 is an old school ebm act from Belgium, with its first LP release from 1986. Several albums were released through the years to come all featuring classic ebm: Pro Patria, Contrast, and Conviction. In addition the band has released various mini CDs, LPs, and soundtracks which featured songs that didn't appear on albums. The band still creates music today, with a relatively more modern sound, but the same atmosphere of gloomy, heavy, sometimes haunting and crushing electronics, that never stop moving or making you move as the listener.
