Just Watching these guys performing live as a support band to Humble Pie in San Francisco in 1975 on You tube ,you do get the sense that they were indeed too early for the aging hippy scene which appeared to be hanging around a little long. Due to their monster success at home in Europe,the band had little time to record anything of much depth during this era which is probally why their albums today do tend to sound a little empty here and there, but Slade were a beast live and of all the hard rock bands I ever witnessed in over thirty years of giggi
