The Specials is the debut album by British ska revival band The Specials. Released on 19 October 1979 on Jerry Dammers' 2 Tone label, the album is seen by some as the defining moment in the UK ska scene. Produced by Elvis Costello, the album captures the disaffection and anger felt by the youth of the UK's concrete jungle-a phrase borrowed from Bob Marley's 1973 album Catch a Fire but equally appropriately used here to describe the grim, violent inner cities of 1970s Britain. The Singles Collection is a compilation album by The Specials. Track 10 presents only the first half of the StereotypeStereotype Pt. 2 single from More Specials. Tracks 14 through 16 were originally recorded under the Special AKA name, which the band used following the split of the original lineup in 1981. Some pressings of the album are missing track 16. This 1991 pressing replaces Maggie's Farm and Rude Boys Outta Jail with International Jet Set and War Crimes. I don't exactly remember 15 tracks being on that album, they may have been on the original cd when that was releasd. I do not know about the cd versions of the albums because I never had them. Anyway, the original album is disc one and disc two is all live tracks
