Album

Traces is the third solo studio album by American singer and songwriter Steve Perry. It was released on October 5, 2018, through Fantasy Records. It was his first solo album in 24 years, following 1994's For the Love of Strange Medicine, his first appearance in a studio album since his last appearance with Journey on their album Trial by Fire as well as his first release of new music since his contributions to the 1998 film Quest for Camelot. Review: Steve Perry Is Still a Believer on Traces. Journey frontmans epic voice is still intact, but his first album in nearly a quarter century doesnt quite have the spark of his finest hits. Kory Grow. The album is very much a classic Steve Perry record, full of dramatic schmaltz, nostalgia and the occasional rocker. Lead single No Erasin' could be a Journey song with its crashing piano and guitar riffs and Perrys reminiscences of hooking up with an old flame in the backseat of his car. Sun Shines Gray is a driving rocker that goes anyway he wants it lots of slower, quieter parts for the singing and heavier parts in between. Traces 2020 Essentials Bundle. View Item. So when Steve Perry returns, it's fair to wonder what might have changed, in him and in us. It's fair to wonder if his essential wistfulness remains, and if that sentimentality can transfer in a modern age defined both by fragmentation and online smart-assery. Quite frankly, though, the worst thing would have been if Traces tried, almost a quarter century past his last solo album, to stake out some new ground, or to contemporize something that somehow always seemed blissfully out of time. You want Steve Perry to be Steve Perry, if you were ever a fan. And Traces delivers. Watch Steve. Former Journey frontman Steve Perry has recorded his highest solo chart placing with 'Traces', his new album which debuted at No 6 on the Billboard 200. Traces is Perrys third solo release, following 1984s Street Talk, which peaked at No. 12, and 1994s For The Love Of Strange Medicine, which debuted and peaked at No. All I was hoping for was someone to listen to the emotional expression of these new songs after my years of absence, Perry said in a statement. This has been beyond my wildest dreams, and I thank you all so very much. Perrys final full concert with Journey took place in early 1987. Album 2018 10 Songs. Steve Perry. Rock 2018.
