In August 2008, the British label Highpointlowlife Records released his debut physical release, Losthilde. Shortly after, blossoming label Dead Pilot Records released the E. P FabulaSjuzhet followed by the twenty minute, single track A House of Gold and Oak. Released on net-label Phantom Channel the latter of these two showcased for the first time a more methodical and crys read more. I started work on this album all the way back in 2015, and can think of no better way of celebrating ten years of releasing music under the name Stray Ghost than the release of what is, to my mind, undoubtedly my best work. This is the music of which I am the proudest and this is the album which I feel has the best chance of standing the test of time. Stray is the fourth album by Scottish group Aztec Camera, released in 1990 on Sire Records. Stray was praised for its diversity of songs and styles, and for the assured nature of Roddy Frame's lyrics which had been considered the weak-point of some of his earlier material. Its understated production was also received positively, particularly coming after the group's previous album Love, which sold well in the United Kingdom but had been criticised by some for being too sanitised and glossy. In these tracks we find Stray Ghost ruminating over his own achievements and mortality as the title of the album suggests, but also there are pieces here stimulated by climate change, the horrors of war and the uplifting and enduring swell of love as a counterpoint, musically and thematically, to the sorrow. Despite the emphasis on universal themes, the strength of A Shade Under Thirty lies in its intimacy the sparseness of the arrangements never feel cold or isolated, they are instead infused with the personal and the confidential.
