Live at Montreux 1986 is a concert video release by the British band Talk Talk of a concert at 1986 Montreux Jazz Festival. The show was part of a tour that started in April 1986 to promote the band's recent album The Colour of Spring, and was to be their only appearance at Montreux, from their last tour. The video captures Talk Talk at the peak of their career. They moved away from synth-pop to a more experimental form with the album The Colour Of Spring in 1986, and their critical reputation increased. Their final two albums, Spirit Of Eden and Laughing Stock, are highly acclaimed and remain influential to experimental alternative rock genres. With Simon Brenner out, Tim Friese-Greene was recruited to assist with the recording of their second album It's My Life and he soon became the band's producer and de facto fourth member. London 1986 is a live album by the English group Talk Talk, released in Europe by Pond Life Records on compact disc in 1999. It was recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon in London on 8 May 1986 near the end of their European tour to promote their 1986 studio album The Colour of Spring. This show was the band's last in the UK, and the tour would be the band's final live performances, although they went on to release two more studio albums in 1988 and 1991. Promotional copies. Here we have Mark Hollis and Talk Talk for what is their seminal concert, in my opinion the audio is fantastic, yes picture is basically upscaled VHS quality but nonetheless this is absolute rarity for Talk Talk fans. In that the much elusive Mark Hollis is recognised throughtout the industry as a giant amongst artists, influencing not least Radiohead, going on to produce some of the most astonishing music that has no time no period no style. It is even better than the London 1986 CD. Buy it. You won't regret it
