Album

Raoul and the Kings of Spain is the fifth studio album by the British pop-rock band Tears for Fears, released on 10 October 1995. Like the band's previous album, Elemental 1993, it is essentially a solo effort by Roland Orzabal-neither album being made with the involvement of Curt Smith, who had left the band at that time. The album, according to Orzabal, has a recurring theme of familial relationships and delves into his own Spanish heritage. The album's title was mooted as far back as the 1980s as. Did you know your father was an island Did you know your mother was the sea Can we ever hope to seek asylum From the bounds of fate and family. Roland Orzabal explores the theme of family on the Raoul and the Kings of Spain album, a very personal album, written after, and in response to, the birth of Orzabals first son: All of a sudden I was struck by the fact that I felt a great connection between myself and my father, and my fathers father, and that kind of thing. Raoul and the Kings of Spain is the fifth album by the British pop-rock band Tears for Fears. Like the previous album, Elemental, it is essentially a solo effort by Roland Orzabal-neither album being made with the involvement of Curt Smith who had left the band at that time. Tears for Fears, named after a phrase found in Arthur Janov's book Prisoners of Pain, is a British poprock outfit formed in 1981 in Bath, England. Founder members Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith had been friends since their early teens and had already been in the shortlived ska band Graduate. Текст песни: A home is like a castle A place where a king can reign Los reyes catolicos Raoul and the kings of second Tears for Fears album following Curt Smith's departure finds Roland Orzabal treading water and self-consciously deep water at that. Long removed from the simple, melodic melancholy of the band's early work and abandoning the mid-period Beatles-influenced pop, Raoul and the Kings of Spain often borders on progressive rock. There's some genuinely pretty, if unexciting, music like the piano-driven ballad Secrets, with it's soaring guitar line, and the gentle Sketches of Pain. Unfortunately, everything is undone by Orzabal's lyrics mos. Tears for Fears' fifth studio album, Raoul And the Kings of Spain, now comes expanded with seven bonus recordings including 'All of the Angels', 'The Madness of Roland', 'Queen of Compromise', 'Until I Drown', 'War of Attrition' and acoustic versions of 'Raoul And the Kings of Spain' and 'Break It Down Again'. Roland Orzabal under the Tears For Fears name really did it with this very personal and mature album. Raoul and the Kings of Spain is filled with deep songs of God, love, family and relationships in his own words
