It was released on 21 June 1999 in the United Kingdom by Freestyle Dust and Virgin Records and in the United States by Astralwerks. The album saw the duo exploring further various electronic styles, including house music. It features Noel Gallagher ex Oasis, Hope Sandoval Mazzy Star and Bernard Sumner New Order as guest vocalists. Leeds band The Sunshine Underground took their name from the sixth track on the album. It was certified 2x Platinum by the BPI on September 30, 2005. The song 'Asleep from Day' was used in a commercial for the French airline Air France. Album 1999 11 Songs. Their psychedelic impulses run free on The Sunshine Underground and Let Forever Be, a winking Beatles impersonation featuring Oasis' Noel Gallagher, and they return to pummeling rave anthems with Under the Influence and Hey Boy Hey Girl.
