Album

One Way Ticket to Hell. and Back is the second studio album by the British rock band The Darkness. It was released on 28 November 2005 through Atlantic Records, reaching number 11 on the UK Album Chart and eventually attaining platinum status in the UK. Three singles were released from the album. The lead single, One Way Ticket, reached number 8 on the UK Singles Chart, as did the second single Is It Just Me. The uncensored version of the official One Way Ticket To Hell. All of it. The exhaustion and the fear, the pressure, paranoia and pan pipes, the breakdowns and break-ups, the sackings, sitar solos and endless studio sessions and now ultimately-with this, their second album-the rebirth and redemption of The Darkness. The song One Way Ticket is the best song about cocaine ever written and a possible successor for I Believe in a Thing Called Love. You won't be able to get the chorus from Knockers out of your head and songs 3 and 4 are awesome. Hazel Eyes is proably my favorite song on the album. From the moment the pan flute fanfare on One Way Ticket kicks off One Way Ticket to Back, it's clear that the Darkness still believes that more is more. The band's debut celebrated and inflated the rock clichés of sex, drugs, and partying this album's best songs are about longterm relationships, getting clean, and balding. The soaring power ballad Dinner Lady Arms highlights the good-natured streak running through a surprising amount of the Darkness' songs, while One Way Ticket is an episode of Behind the Music, complete with cocaine snorting, turned into a pop single. They're a band with real talent and the album kicks off well This is a decent album and arguably an improvement on Permission to Land. They're a band with real talent and the album kicks off well with two excellent tracks. But as the album goes on it doesn't really go anywhere. It's also shorter than it should be, this could do with another 5 minute track on the end
